Satan is jealous of Adam and his seed because he took the place of Lucifer’s relationship with God almighty. When God created man in his own image he gave him the power to choose.
Before the fall of Adam, god used to come down and have personal fellowship with Adam and Eve. Satan did not like that, and he did everything in his power to stop this fellowship between God and man. Satan won the battle for a time.
“For god so loved the world...” that he made a provision for man to be restored in fellowship with god. “the seed of the woman will bruise the serpent’s head” (genesis 3:15). god kept his promise.
The wages of sin is death and separation from god. someone needed to pay the price for man’s sin. there was no man worthy of such a burden. God became a man, born to a virgin, as the seed of the woman. at the Cross, Jesus said, “it is finished.” all man needs to do is to believe that Jesus took his place and suffered for him. he was separated from god at the Cross when he cried to god, “Eli, Eli – why have you forsaken me?” Jesus was at that time separated from his Father God because the sin of all mankind was laid at his feet.
Tthe spiritual war goes on today – for man to believe, or man to reject. Satan is active to get as many people as he can to be deceived, refusing to accept god’s only plan for man to have his fellowship with god restored.
this is now the reason that the gospel is good news for those who believe. it is bad news for those who reject the gospel of Christ. there are always spiritual battles in the heavens between the power of god and the power of darkness. all this is for man’s sake.
the kingdom of god has generals, and arch-angels. they have order. the kingdom of Satan has the same.
We are living in the times that god and his kingdom will completely defeat the devil and his kingdom.
Looking at what is happening in the world still gives me hope. the defeat of Satan will take place soon and we will reign with the king of kings and the Lord of Lords, for all eternity in the new heaven and the new earth.
Come Lord Jesus, Come!
