He is not here, for He is risen! Matthew 28:6

These were the words of the angel to the women at the empty tomb, commanding them to go and tell His disciples that He would meet them in Galilee. Angels are mentioned in the Bible more times than we think. They are messengers of God.

At Jesus’ birth in Luke 2:14 the angel declared to the shepherds: “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace and good will towards men.” His Birth was announced by the angels proclaiming that He brought peace, and the world did not understand. There are wars and rumors of wars throughout the world even today, because the world does not understand the kind of peace the angel declared. It is and individual peace to those who will believe.

In Luke 19:38 on Palm Sunday in Jerusalem, the children sang: “Blessed is the king that cometh in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven.” At His birth the angels declared peace to those who believed in Him. At his death the multitude declared peace in heaven for those who believed in his death, burial, and resurrection. The enmity between man and God was removed only for them that believe.

We live in a world that needs to understand the birth of Jesus; his death, his resurrection and the meaning of them. So, it is now our responsibility to continually proclaim publicly and with the courage of lions the peace that was established in heaven between man and God by the death of Jesus and his resurrection. That is why we continue fulfilling our responsibility by declaring that peace in heaven. God has pardoned everyone and this is Good News to those who will accept it.

So, this Easter season He is risen, He is not here, the tomb is empty as He has said because Jesus is a man of His word. He gave us the commission to declare this everywhere.

Christ is risen, He is risen indeed!

I first met Dr. Elias Malki in 1993.  

Since that day, he has been a tremendous blessing in my life.Very soon after I met Elias I realized that he had a special anointing from God.  He had great zeal for the Arabic speaking people, and his laser like vision for that part of the world was unprecedented.  I immediately committed myself to helping him and his ministry in any way that I could.  

We traveled the Middle East together, and I soon learned that wherever we went he was widely known and recognized for his satellite television ministry, the Good News Program.  People would stop him and say: ‘You’re the man on TV who says put your hand on the television and I will pray for you.’

The sad news is that Elias has gone to be with the Lord.   I am glad to have been his friend, and I felt privileged to be a financial supporter of MEGO for many years.  What a great financial investment it was, and still is.

Elias spent his life in his passion for the Kingdom of God.  He leaves behind a great legacy and a great family, who plan to continue on with MEGO.  They also plan to soon launch a television network that will reach the Middle East, Europe, North Africa and North America.  This network will be dedicated to Christian Arabic programming, including the vast library of the Good News Program that Elias has left behind.  These programs are anointed, and will be used effectively for years to come.

I encourage every partner of MEGO to continue their support, as MEGO goes forward with the dream that Elias had; to reach the Arabic speaking population worldwide with the Gospel.

Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.  And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?”                            Mark 16:2-3

Who will roll away the stone? That was the question the women had as they came to the tomb to anoint the body of Jesus for a proper burial on that early morning.   As the worldwide body of Christ celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, I’m sure there are many believers who wrestle with the same kind of question. 

Often times we face things in our lives that are too heavy to move… a marriage that is on the brink, a child that is lost, a sickness that you or a loved one is facing, and the list goes on. Who will roll this heavy issue out of my way? As the women approached the tomb of Jesus, they were amazed that the obstacle to seeing Jesus had been moved. They thought they were going to touch and care for a dead man, but the news from the angel changed everything. He is not here, HE IS RISEN!

I don’t know what you may be facing, but I know this; that Jesus is alive! His power and resources are ours! He gave power to the cross when He rose from the dead. Without the resurrection, He would have been just another man with claims of greatness. Unlike others before him, He actually was  telling the truth about who He was and is. 

God is still in the business of moving mountains of all shapes and sizes. The women, who were coming to anoint a dead man for burial, instead received life. Let’s stop visiting the tomb of our problems and look to the Risen Savior who is the champion! He is the one who conquered death, and is triumphant over every power of hell. Trust Him to move the obstacle that you see as a deathblow.

Romans 8:28 declares,” And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

God has not lost sight of you! He is working out His purposes in and through you. He knows what you are facing and how the story ends. Trust Him today and know that Jesus is willing and able to remove the heavy weight that is in your way.

He is alive and very well! Happy resurrection day!
