The Blessing of Zion

6/29/2014

"The Lord shall bless thee out of Zion and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life"
-Psalm 128:5

This promise is for the one who loves God and lives by the way of Holiness.  The Lord will bless this person with a family blessing.  His wife and children will become the happiness of the home.  As a member of the church he expects to see it go forward and prosper because he cares for the house of the Lord, as he cares for his own home.

When the Lord builds our home, we should in turn think of building the house of the Lord.  We will be successful in our everyday lives if we work to the good of the chosen church of God.
Yes, you will receive a blessing when you attend the Zion meetings.  You will learn and your mind will be disciplined as you receive comfort from the prayer and worship that takes place.  You will receive the testimony of God’s great redemption story.

This blessing is not for you alone, but for the church that will grow and multiply and whose holy work will be crowned in success.

Some men of grace have experienced the fulfillment of this promise in their lifetime.  When the Lord calls them to their eternal home, we miss them as a loss that cannot be replaced.  Let us carry on their work with the good blessing of Jerusalem all the days of our lives.

Lord, have mercy on me and cause me to be blessed. Amen.

Food For Thought - Prayer Changes Things

6/15/2014

Egypt is a country in North Africa with a population of ninety million people.   For the last three years, it has endured a civil war that changed its political climate.  Egyptians have fought against each other and many have died, to no peaceful end.

In the first century, Mark the Apostle evangelized Egypt and the Coptic Church is a direct result of his efforts.  This group has its own Pope, and considers itself to be the true Egyptians.  Along with the Evangelical Christians, they comprise ten percent of the total population of Egypt.  Before the coming of Islam to Egypt in the fifth century, they even had their own language.

Today the Coptic Church has its own Pope for life and I had the privilege of knowing the pope who passed away two years ago.  They are loyal to the teachings of their Coptic Orthodox faith.  For years in Egypt if you were not Coptic, and you claimed to be a Christian, you were not considered to be a member of the true church.

Many of the Coptic Orthodox have converted into the evangelical churches in recent years.  However, nothing could unite the Coptic Church with the Evangelicals until two years ago, when Egypt elected a president who was in favor of the Muslim brotherhood controlling the country and making it a fundamentalist Muslim nation.
Fear fell on the orthodox and evangelical churches, and for the first time in history, they agreed to have ecumenical prayer meetings, asking God to bring a miracle and remove the new Muslim brotherhood president.

On May 26 and 27 the Egyptians will elect a new president to replace the ousted president.  The ex pat vote is in, and the former Egyptian army chief Abdel-Fattah al Sisi is the clear winner.  When the rest of the country votes, it is expected that he will be the next president of Egypt.  He is in favor of giving religious freedom to every Egyptian.  He is the candidate that the Coptic and Evangelicals have been praying for.

I believe that this miraculous turnaround is the result of the new found unity within the church of Egypt.  As a result I see a great revival coming to Egypt as never before.  This is the result of uniting in the name of Jesus and putting aside denominational prejudice.  God will visit Egypt, and many will be saved and brought into the Kingdom.

A Report from the Pastors' Conference

6/1/2014

Dr. Malki, as you know I am Said Deeb and I am the pastor of a church in Beirut, Lebanon.  I am thrilled to be here with you at the pastors’ conference in Cyprus.  As you know, I have been coming here since 2000 and God has greatly blessed me as a result.

I went to Bible School in England because God had called me to the ministry.  When I graduated I went back to Beirut and opened a very small church.  I struggled for a couple of years and found myself going into business to support my family.  My business was OK and I opened two offices.  The business took a lot of my time, and as a result the church was suffering and not growing, and I was totally stressed out.  I started to think that I should close the church and continue in business.  I felt that I might have missed God and I questioned my calling to the ministry.

In 2000 you got my name from someone and called me and invited me to come to the pastors’ conference here in Cyprus.  My pastor at the time, and your good friend, Lucien Akad encouraged me to come to the conference, so I did.  Pastor Akad knew about my struggle, but I wanted someone who did not know me to be led by God and give me a word.

When I arrived you gave me the responsibility for the worship here.  On the second night of the conference you were praying for the pastors and ministering to them.  When it came my turn, you put your hand on my head and gave me a word from the Lord.  You told me that He had called me to the ministry and that if I trusted Him, He would bless me abundantly and bless my church.  I knew the word was from the Lord and I felt a great anointing as you prayed for me.

From that day, I closed my business and dedicated my life to the ministry.  I am here to tell all who are gathered that our church is now considered the largest in the Middle East.  We have a conference center like this one, and a school.  My life has been so blessed in that God has supplied all of my needs and the needs of my family.  We have grown spiritually and the church continues to grow.  We have hosted your crusades in Beirut, and we have recorded at least fifty healings from cancer as a result of the crusades.   I thank the Lord for the ministry and guidance this conference has provided for me through the years!
