We cannot ignore what is taking place in the region we refer to as the Fertile Crescent. This region stretches from the Euphrates in Iraq to the Nile in Egypt. This part of the world is mentioned in the scripture from Genesis to Revelation. This area must have been very dear to God’s heart since He chose it as the location for the important events of the world to take place.
The location of the Garden of Eden is thought to be in Iraq. The Bible praised Lebanon and its cedars which were used to build the Temple of Solomon. Gilead was in Jordan. God called the Egyptians His people. And Israel is where He was born and spent his life and ministry here on earth. It all began there and will end there.
We hear with our ears and see with our eyes what is taking place. This is only the beginning of what the apostle John saw on the island of Patmos, and recorded in the book of revelation.
Our purpose for being alive is to please Him who has saved us and called us to a Holy calling. We are required to cooperate with the Holy Spirit and bring the message of hope to those who have been divided by manmade religions. As a result they are killing one another and going to eternity without Christ. The bombing in Beirut two days ago reminds me of the hatred of one religion for another. This is the work of the enemy; the thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy.
So, church let us rise and declare the Truth so we can win as many souls as possible away from this religious bondage that divides a Muslim with another Muslim, a Christian with another Christian and even a Jew with another Jew. This is the result of manmade religion.
Jesus said I come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. At his birth the angel sang peace on earth to the shepherds. As we look at our world today, we do not see this peace. But the peace that we experience is an individual peace that comes from the assurance of eternal life through Jesus Christ who was born as a child on what we celebrate as Christmas.
