John 14:18 “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”

Truly Jesus left us, but He did not leave us orphans. He sent us another Comforter – the Holy Spirit who is with us always. Jesus is coming back to us and this promise gives us great comfort that helps us during His long absence.

Jesus is now on His way to us. He says, “I am coming quickly!” He is on the fastest flight - maybe the concord or the heavenly chariot! He is saying, “I am coming!” Who can stop His coming? Who can hinder Him or make Him even 15 seconds late? He declared personally, “I am coming to you.” We have no doubt He will come. He will come for His own who look for His appearance. This is the secret of our comfort that He is coming soon.
Sometimes we become anxious because our bridegroom has delayed His appearance. Sometimes we mourn when we lose His blessed presence in our midst. But, we need not to be sad like those that have no hope because even though our Lord, in His anger, has turned His face from us for a second, He will come back to us through His loving kindness that He left us with when He was taken to heaven. He left for us His promise that He will come back.

What a comfort! Oh, Lord, come quickly. There is no life in this earthly world. Since you left, we mourn in our souls. Thank you for the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, as your substitute. But, Jesus you are our bridegroom. We are looking for you to come to us with your loving smile. We trust and believe that you will appear the second time to them that are looking for your appearing. Jesus, do not delay. My Lord and my God, come quickly.

So cheer up, my brother and sister. God loves you. Fight the good fight of faith in the finished work of Christ. He accomplished it for you. Let the peace of God reign in your heart.
